The Club Rules
Club rules are always going to be a work in progress with revisions as needed.
It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure their dog does not attend club events if their dog is in ill health, still carries stitches after a surgery or is under treatment for a contagious disorder.
Bitches, while in season, may not attend club events.
While on club walks, unless your dog is fully desensitised to livestock, you must take extra care and not allow him to approach any animal.
During club events, do not throw sticks or similar for your dog. Apart from the danger to the dog itself, 10 dogs chasing the same stick usually means trouble!
Always clean up after your dog and get rid of the mess responsibly. Also, make sure your dog is wormed regularly to protect it, other animals and people.
Members must recognize their responsibility to protect the reputation of the Breed and shall not allow their dogs to become a public nuisance.
If your dog shows aggression towards other dogs, keep your dog on the lead (as necessary) so as not to spoil the event for others.
It’s not uncommon for dogs to play too rough and, in fact, bully another dog. If your dog is acting over zealously in play on a walk/event, we ask that you control the situation by putting your dog on the lead.
If a problem arises between your dog and another Members dog, every effort will be made to solve the problem. If the problem cannot be resolved and your dog's behaviour is to the detriment of another Members enjoyment of the club, you will be asked to attend future club events without your dog.
Membership entitles you to attend all club events with or without a German Shepherd Dog(s), provided you have booked in advance when required. Events that require booking in advance will be filled on a ‘first come, first served’ basis and we encourage you to book early. Some events may exclude the attendance of dogs.
Events that require payment in advance must be paid in full by the specified payment date. Refunds can only be given under special circumstances.
Some club events are photographed (and/or captured on video) for the purposes of reporting the event on the club Web Site and/or newsletter. If you do not want us to use a photo that you or your dog appears in, please contact us. If we do not hear from you, we will take it that you agree to us doing so.
