Tinsel Walk
Saturday 20 December
On Saturday, Henry the Boxer and Toby the Spaniel joined Max, Storm, Frankie, Bailey, Kea, JD, Molly and Brandon (GSDs) for a Tinsel Walk on Salisbury Plain. We set out from the chalk pile on Tank Track C near Milston.
Tinsel Walk.
It soon became apparent (by the number of deer that kept flashing past us) that there was a hunt in progress. We soon heard the gunshots and, later, saw the hunting party in a large trailer being towed by a tractor across the muddy Plain. None of the dogs seemed particularly bothered, although they did give chase to the deer on occasion.
With hunters in the area, we were a little concerned for Ros who had chosen to lead the walk in the spirit of Xmas with Reindeer antlers on her head!
Ros, in Reindeer antlers, led the walk.

The walk included both copse and open plain. Apart from a strong breeze, the weather was great. We found some nice puddles – some big enough to swim in.
A big puddle!

As the light faded and we entered the darkness of the last copse of trees. Ros’s golden Reindeer antlers led us back to camp. We heated milk and everyone had hot chocolate. Several Members had brought Xmas treats for us all to eat and a few lucky dogs managed to beg some sausage rolls.
The dogs went home happy and tired.
Back at camp.
Max asks nicely for a sausage roll.
Bye JD, see you next time.
