Shrewton & District Dog Club Show
September 20, 2009
The Shrewton & District Dog Training Club’s annual Companion Dog Show and Obedience Competition was, as usual, a tremendously fun day out. Well attended by both spectators and competitors, the weather cooperated with blue skies and sunshine.
One of the busiest dogs in the field was Poppy (photo below) who seemed to enter almost every Class. An old pro, she knew how to look cute just at the right moment.

Another star of the day (amongst many stars) was Titan - a 4th generation Doberman x GSD.
His owner, Kerry, explains, “Titan won 3rd Place in the Non-Pedigree Veteran Class and seemed truly pleased with himself". However, this was not the first time in the ring that day, as Kerry explains, “Earlier, we accidentally entered him for the Pedigree Veteran Class, thinking it was the Non-Pedigree. No one really made comment on the fact that he was obviously a crossbreed!” What a victory it would have been had he won!

Lucy, from Salisbury Dogs Trust, showed infinite patience and sound decision making skills as Judge for the fun dog show classes. Meanwhile, Stan Browning kept everyone on their toes in the obedience competitions.
Skipper uses all his powers of concentration in Advanced Obedience.
Oh dear! It's all a bit too much and Skipper decides to lie down!
Rocky, Ralph and Rosie all turned up for the event, although it is unclear who is who as they all looked very much alike.
Rocky, Ralph & Rosy - but not necessarily in that order.
And, to top it all off, there were some lovely cakes and a nice cup of tea.
Yum!
A nice cup of tea.
The proceeds from the day went to several charities, and including Riding for the Disabled (Wilton) and the Wiltshire Blind Association.
