Paws in the Park
Broadlands, Hampshire - 20/21 June
Paws in the Park, at Broadlands (near Romsey, Hampshire) was a must-go for anyone who loves dogs. The sheer size of the event was reason enough. There was something for everyone.

Best mates.
Over the course of the weekend 5,000 dogs were expected to visit Paws in the Park. Every which way you looked, there were dogs of every shape, size and description.

The highlight of the show had to be the water sports. The K9 Aqua Zone featured the Dash 'N' Splash (long-jump into water) and Dash 'N' Grab (swim and retrieve) competitions, as well as two additional practice pools for beginners.

Not everyone was keen to dive into the pool and some had to be enticed with tennis balls. The crowd had great fun encouraging the dogs in.
At first not keen, this GSD was enticed in by a tennis ball.
The practice pools provided ramps into the pool for anyone too whimpy to dive feet first. Some of the dogs looked like they were ‘walking the plank’ as they inched down the ramp. However, no one was forced in and some dogs remained stubbornly on the deck.
Brave doggie!

We met this gorgeous pair of GSDs (below) at the show. That's TJ on the left and Shiloh on the right. They belong to Maggie Donovan and we hope they'll join us on a WAGS walk soon.

By end of show, there were 5,000 thoroughly exhausted and happy dogs, and I had so many photos I’ve had to spread them across 1, 2, 3 and 4 pages.
