Danger Belt Walk
26 July, 2009
Along the firing ranges on the Bulford/Tidworth road, 22 people and 23 dogs hurried ahead of the rain showers for an enjoyable Sunday afternoon walk.

Stewart and his dog Amber led the walk. The route took us across managed access land (no red flags flying today) and combined woods, open plain and puddles. Stewart somehow managed to lead us clear of the rain clouds!

After a while, we came to the Firing Ranges and stopped for photos. Some were persuaded to line up in front of Firing Range F. (No one was shot, except by camera!)
Jae, being a typical collie, insisted on placing himself in front of the line-up and was very keen to be at the centre of all photographs.

It’s very difficult to photograph 21 dogs together. In fact, it's not possible!
Stop messing around everyone and look at the camera.

After a short break for photos, Stewart and Amber (and Jae!) led the troops north from the firing ranges in search of mud puddles. We found several monster ones conveniently spanning the entire track.

On these managed access lands there are red danger signs warning of unexploded shells or mortar bombs. Oh dear, Alfie has found a “could be something” object. He’s a good dog though, and comes back when called – usually.
Don't touch!
Arko and Jessie wait to see if Alfie gets blown up!
Meanwhile, back at camp, Rose & Gray were cooking up sausages and beans to accompany a large spread of salads. We had walked long enough to work up an appetite and the picnic is enjoyed by everyone.
