Brigmerston Field Walk
6 September, 2009
We had an absolutely fantastic time on Sunday – 22 dogs accompanied by 22 people set out for a walk that started in Brigmerston (which no one’s ever heard of) on Salisbury Plain.
The weather stayed fine, and we had a fun walk.

We arrived back at camp with 22 happy and tired dogs.
L-R: Izzie, Storm and Storm.
Izzie
The only downside to the day was an unfriendly native who lived 100 yards from our camp. She appeared as everyone was gathering - and then reappeared, and reappeared, and reappeared throughout the afternoon. A Range Warden visited us twice as a result of her phone calls.
Despite having prior permission from Range Control, and despite being out of sight of her house, the unfriendly native spent her afternoon taking photos (which she referred to as evidence). This culminated in her marching into our camp and reading us the riot act. I offered her a cup of tea but she wasn’t having any of it and marched off again.

Sue and Bill, nearby neighbours of ‘the unfriendly native’, had offered us the use of their kitchen and already had four large lasagnes’ baking. They brought them out piping hot and dished them out with garlic bread and salad.
To follow, and thanks to Rose, we had a huge pan of home-made 'Bread and Butter Pudding'. Yum!
Storm and Molly.
At the end of the day, in the evening sunshine, Storm and Molly square up for a wrestling match, which is always fun to watch.
Dennis was kind enough to bring ‘tennis ball launchers’ which we handed out to everyone to take home with them.
The troops: Murphy, Arko, Izzie, Bud, Amber, Spot, Alfie, another Alfie, Millie, Jess, Sabre, Lily, Storm, Hopie, Poppy, Grace, another Storm, JD, Tyrone, another Poppy, Megan and Molly.
