Bowood Dog Show & Country Fair
Sunday 7 June
Held in the grounds of Bowood House near Calne, this country fair had an area of the show ground dedicated entirely to dogs called Canine Corner.

This was a fun day and well worth the £7 admission fee. As well as the usual trade stands and amusments found at every country show, the day was filled with doggie events and there were dogs of every conceivable breed and in-betweens wandering around - and including some lovely GSDs.
I'm only 7 months old.
Who are you?
Hello!
I'm a goat, not a dog.
The day was warm and muggy and while vendors sold vast quantities of Cider, by 4pm the Morris Dancers seemed unable to continue.

The sheepdog trials were great but, for me, the highlight of the show were the beagles.
Beagles
Every so often the bugle would sound and dozens of kids and beagles would take off at a fast running pace in a wide circle around the arena.
The bugle sounds...
Beagles and kids take off at a fast running pace...
It was best not to be caught in the middle of this fray. Occasionally, you'd see several adults trapped in the chaos and being wafted along - not really wanting to, but having to - as the pack of kids and dogs was so dense and fast.
...the middle of the fray.
The bugle sounds and they're off again.
Sadly, just before 5pm, the final bugle sounded and the day ended with a huge black thunder cloud on the horizon. The rain arrived as I drove away - perfect timing for a perfect day.
All money raised went to Macmillan Cancer Support and other local charities.
