Road to Recovery

Update on George

George

After his recent surgery for a perineal hernia, George is on the road to recovery and is ready to go to a new ‘forever’ home. However, no one has spoken for him yet and he’s getting worried that no one will want him.

As you may have read in a previous article, George has really been through the wars lately and his life has not been easy. Now that the worst is over, all he’s wanting is a place in someone’s heart and home. Could you be that person?

Alison from Southern Counties German Shepherd Dog Rescue (SCGSDR), is allowing George to convalesce in her home at the moment, and says, “He is an angelic dog and I really don't understand why he hasn't been snapped up already!”

She explains, “We take him out in the forest off lead - he doesn't bother the horses and is very obedient. I struggle to find any fault in him at all - he is a great little dog. We have people coming through looking for dogs all the time but George is still here!!!?”

George has made a full recovery from the extensive surgery he underwent on July 17th. Although the scars remain, and he may be a little lopsided on the rear end, the hair will grow back and he will look ‘normal’ again.

He has been given a clean bill of health by the vet and his long-term prognosis is good. As Alison explains, “There is always the chance that, as he has had a hernia on one side, that he may get one on the other side in due course, but nobody really knows”.
